Civie Gets a Bath

Since it feels like March outside right now, I decided today that I would clean my car! Oh man she needed it! This is a small compilation of the things that I found:

Photo 1: Broken sunglasses.. Not sure where that lens is; CHAPSTICK! happy day!; and hand sanitizer! [which serves its purpose after I touch a gas pump.. yuck ]

Photo 2: mascara... weird; and a tape recorder-- this recorder was the one that Brazil got me when he left on his mission. I have no clue why it is in my car.. or what is on the tape... too bad I don't have any AAA batteries! I don't think it's a tape he sent me, but it might be one I was making to send him. 1.5 years later and it's only worth couple laughs ha.

Photo 3: 7 pens and 1 marker

Photo 4: At my cousins wedding a while ago my aunt tried to set me up with on of the mission companions of her new son-in-law, who was quite cute. He wrote his number on the inside of this Mt. Timp temple schedule and gave it to me haha-- I put it in my jockey box and found it today!

Photo 5: four cents... not even a quarter! Usually I find at least a dollar in change :(

Photo 6: Sass' Wells Fargo savings withdrawal slips... I am pretty sure I could forge her signature :) I just figured out how I'll pay for my next semester! lol

Did you know you can wash your car at University Car wash for $1.50??
ya pretty sweet-- and the vacuum is only 75 cents.
So I spent $2.25 and Civie is clean!

I also went to work, stopped by the post office, worked out, made Sushi, ate Sushi, and I am having a FABULOUS hair day (too bad I showered at 5:30 and only get to enjoy it for 6 hours)... RIGHT NOW I'm waiting for Lakyn to get home... LAKYN GET HOME FASTER! I'm always so bored without her! ha

Loves--

Want to Hear a Scary Story?

This post is also a little stale dated, but it's a story worth telling!

New Years 2011:

A group of friends from my ward decided to go to the EVE event in SLC for New Years. Lakyn and I (like always) are game for a good time!

We go out at around 8pm and yada yada yada (I'll skip the boring details and get to the good stuff) we end up in this big ballroom in the Salt Palace where they have all these HUGE blow up balls. They have great music playing and it was a blast! But there were almost more kids there than balls... TONS of little kids running around crazy haha it was a blast.

So we're all playing having an innocently fun time, Lakyn and I are taking pictures.. blah blah blah.. Well we're posing for a picture when "Jared" walks up and says:

Guys, 'Alex' lost his gunasldkjfalks (kind of gets muffled)

Alex lost his gum? (we're confused)

NO, Alex lost his GUN.

(just at that moment... this picture was taken)

Our friend Alex has his concealed weapons permit and he takes his gun EVERYWHERE. We go to taco bell, Alex has his gun. We hike the Y, Alex brings his gun. So our expressions are priceless because I am thinking "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME! WHAT AN IDIOT!!" and Lakyn almost looks scared like, "OH CRAP."

So the next 5 minutes turn into a craziness. All 9 of us are running around, kicking the balls out of the way, trying to find this hand gun that is somewhere amidst a couple hundred little kids. I was terrified. I kept waiting for the sound of a gunshot.... The gun was loaded, but it was on safety and it was not cocked, so it's two steps away from being dangerous, but STILL! We were all in pretty frantic. I am also thinking what to do if I find it. I don't want to touch it! haha I decided that I'd take off my jacket, throw it over the top of it and then stand there till Alex comes...but not too much later Alex's older brother came up and told us that they found it. Some little kid found it and took it to the security guard. I was ticked. I knew Alex felt bad, but honestly! It could have been SO fatal. But LUCKILY it wasn't. No one was hurt (except maybe Alex's pride) and though it took an hour or so for the adrenaline and shock to wear off, the rest of the night was freezing, but fun!

true story.

Best Christmas Present EVER!

I know this post is SUPER late considering it's 7 days into 2011, but believe it or not I am already bogged down with homework. BYU will kill me I'm sure of it. Anyway I wanted to share the best Christmas moment EVER!

After all the presents have been opened Oldest pulled out the last one under the tree and said it was a family present.. so we open it!
This is what we found :)

OLDEST IS PREGO!!!!!!!!!!!

This is me cheering

This is Sass professing to have known all along (lies!)

This is me crying because I am so stinking EXCITED!*

*except that I KNOW it's going to be a boy. We don't do boy things in our house... but I JUST KNOW it's a boy. :( I guess I will have to settle on argyle sweaters and black nikes instead of pink pumas and 10,000 adorable dresses, headbands, bows etc. Sigh* OH WELL!

T-Dogg (or Brother as I call him lately) wants to name him Billy. Not happening. It's especially funny if you know their last name because Billy _____ has quite a ring to it, but this is a battle he will most definitely lose. He says he never met a Billy that wasn't funny... weirdo. Haha, so we'll see who wins on the name picking. Oldest texted me yesterday and said she heard the baby's heartbeat... and luckily there was only 1 heart beating (she was panicked because Brother is a twin.. she did not want twins haha). The Newcomer is expected to arrive mid July. Oldest and Brother are moving to Arizona for Medical School at the end of July. Aunt Kaylen is NOT happy about this. I may or may not steal the little bugger for a couple months :)

THE END! Happy Christmas!

Be Prepared.

So today I decided to read my New Year post from last year:

{Confession} + 2010 EXCITEMENT!

So I purposely didn't blog yesterday with a 2009 rewind.. Why? because I won't lie 2009 has been the toughest year of my life so far and I don't really care to go through and post pictures that help to relive the struggle.

Instead I chose to post today in celebration of the anticipation that I have for 2010! For the last four years of my life I've had such a vision of how my life was going to be at this point and right now my life is everything but what I pictured-- which has recently opened my eyes to all of the opportunities that I have before me!

For the first time in a long time I feel like I can do whatever I want to do!

BYU

MISSION

STUDY ABROAD

TRAVEL

etc.

Let's just say that I could literally be ANYWHERE come 2011.

& did I mention...I'm STOKED :D

BAHAHAHAHA Lakyn and I read that and had a pretty good laugh. I think if I would've known what 2010 had in store I might've been a little more grateful for 2009 haha.

Lesson for 2010--

Be grateful for your good times and bad times because despite what you might think... it could get worse!

So needless to say this year my forecast won't be quite so peppy because it's kind of a bummer to read how excited I was for the beginning of what turned out to be another trying year... But I am TRULY grateful for the great friendships I've had the opportunity to develop and also for the experiences that have made me a stronger person.

This year I think my main goal is to be prepared. Be prepared for whatever 2011 has in store-- Good or Bad. I want to be more spiritually prepared, more mentally prepared, and more physically prepared for whatever the Lord has in store for me!

So bring it 2011!

(just don't bring it too hard please ;)
