80 lbs of laundry--- believe it!

Sporty and I cleaned our room.. yes it was a disaster---again-- and we went to the laundromat because we had so much and not a lot of time to wait for ages with the washers and dryers in the dorms.. we filled up one 50 lbs, one 25 lbs, and one 10 lbs washer! there was a little bit of space, so we figured it was approx. 80 freaking pounds of laundry! Unbelievable! It's been almost 3 weeks since the last time we did it and we were both on our last pair of underwear.. it had to be done. But here's the deal-eo the reason it was all dirty wasn't because we made it dirty, but because it was on the floor and then it gets dirty just from being walked on.. lol.. so this is our punishment for being slobs.

All this laundry
But our closet still looks full... Where did all those clothes come from??
Oh ya that's right we have 4 big drawers that are usually full of sweats, but they're all about empty... 80 lbs of sweats/t-shirts
PS- I was walked through one of the buildings on campus and I stopped dead in my tracks... guess what I smelled... BRAZIL'S COLOGNE! It hit me like a ton of bricks. That smell brings back memories! I stood there for probably 2 minutes and just breathed it in. Then I called Kayla to tell her because I was so excited about it :) I'm a dork-I know

To post or not to post... that is the question

Well I obviously chose to post! So what to post.. umm not a whole lot is going on right now.. so how about a life update--

1- Sporty and Devin are ring shopping again...

2-Me and 'Buzz' are old news.. quick story- one night last week we were texting (summerized convo):

Buzz: Ya I'm done doing homework and I'm reading! How lame is that
Me: "buzz" read? ha ha you're way to bored
Buzz: ha ya pretty much. What's going on in 311 tonight?
Me: Some of my roommates are watching Twilight and the other ones are watching Disturbia in the living. You can come over to watch and chill if you want!
Buzz: I'm not really in a movie mood
(I didn't know what to say to that so i just changed the subject)
Me: No worries.. So did you pitch this weekend?
Buzz: Ya thankfully.. but we'll figure something out
(confused because I'm not sure if he wants to figure out something to do tonight or what)
Me: Figure what out?
Buzz:Something to do..
Me: Oh well my apartments kind of out of the question if you don't want to watch a movie
Buzz: Oh I wasn't talking about something to do tonight
(WTFreak! I was fed up at that point cus he is so retarded!!!!!!!!!!)
Me: Oh gotcha
(then the convo trailed off after that point)

So what did I do about it? The next day in English I flirted with one of his teammates all through class-- right in front of him.. that was the end of that. We haven't talked much since. He really is such a fun kid, but he is too confusing. I hate games. I'm one that likes to be up front and skip all the freakin drama games. It's too exhausting.

3-Katie did my nails
4- my Finals are half over :)

5- Hailey's grandma died a little while back and Hailey went through her old jewelry and got this sweet necklace
that I'm wearing today!
(my condolences to grandma)

6- I curled my hair yesterday and I woke up today and this is what it looked like...
and I have been running crazy all day so I didn't have time to even touch it, yet I've gotten like 3 comments about how pretty it is- SCORE!

7- I'm still in love with ALLRED--
*This pic is for you Kla.. all he needs is the slight smile out of the corner of his mouth and it'd be PERFECT!

I've listened to each of his 2 CD's over 14 times this week while I studied and when I woke up and when I was getting ready and when I was just chillin... that means that I've listened to him for over 23 hours this week... holy cow! and I'm not even sick of him :)

That is the update

--peace out

Taking a Break

Next week is finals, but I only have 2 finals next week and they're both on thursday, so I'm not worried about that. This week- on the other hand- is what I like to call H****ell week :)

Monday- Geography paper- 5 pages
Today- Teach a lesson in intro to education, observe 3rd grade class and write a paper on it
Tomorrow- Geography final
Thursday- write summery + take a final for my education class, write a 4 page paper on shakespeare's "the tempest" for english.

I have been studying/writing papers for the last 3 ish hours and so I'm (ps it's currently 11:11 so make a wish) taking a break and blogging! I was wondering what to blog about and then I started taking pictures of myself on photobooth...

**************
Back to normal and back to studying... you probably won't hear from me for the next couple days unless something awesomely spectacular happens to me (doubtful) but here is one more bit of good news..... BRAZIL HAS 5 MONTHS --boo ya!
Amen

We Could Have Been Golden -if it hadn't been so embarrassing-

This weekend Kayla came down and visited me at school. We had a hypnotist come down this weekend and also John Allred came into concert.. it was so much fun! Allred came to my college at the beginning of fall semester and I'd never heard him, but he was really good and I bought his CD, so when I heard that he was coming back I was super excited! And this leads into a bit of an embarrassing story--

So the concert was bomb and after Kayla and I went up and he was talking about how he was releasing a new cd the next night and having a concert up in P-town, so we chatted with him for a bit and Kayla was like let's get a pic with him.. and I was like that is so embarrassing, but she said we'll never see again, so I agreed and we got a pic with him. Because there was nothing to do the next day we decided that we'd make the trip up to his concert, so we get there and it's about an hour before the concert is going to start and we go inside the concert hall and we ask these two guys if we can buy our tickets right now or if we have to wait and they were like (this is a summerized convo)
"Umm, we're not sure... John can these two girls buy their tickets early or do they have to wait?"
at this point me and Kayla are both hoping and praying that they aren't talking to John Allred, but it was him... crap.. so he walks up and Kayla is practically hiding behind me..
"No we aren't selling tickets early... wait, you're the girls from last night aren't you.."
"Ya..."
"Oh well we're not selling tickets, but I guess if you guys want to you can come in and hang out in the cafe that's back here.."
But I didn't have cash on me! freak! I had to go to the ATM..
"Actually we're gonna go and chill before the concert and then just come back..."
"Ok Cool, sounds good"
"Thanks though" (Kaylen and Kayla exit)
FREAK!!!! It was so bad.. I felt like such a stalker! and I dunno the way he was talking it wasn't like he was happy to see us.. not that he was annoyed, but like it was just weird and I wanted to peace out of that awkward situation asap lol.. it was SO AWKWARD! Kayla said that we'd never see him again, but we did ;)

The concert was fantastic! Sam came to the concert with us too and it was good to see him! I think I have a huge crush on Allred tho.. lol he is hott and he sings SO well! If you've never heard him then I would highly recommend looking him up! I have one of his songs on my playlist at the bottom of my blog so have a listen!

What Now?

Sporty just left out of town...

Sporty leaves out of town a lot, but why is this time different you ask-- it's different because Sporty and Devin are going RING
SHOPPING! Oh my goodness! (if you know them.. keep it on the down low)(says the girl publishing it on her blog ;)
My sister is getting married in June.

Sporty will most likely be married
before school starts in the fall.

and Kaylen is troubled....

I don't know who to live with next semester, I don't know what my major is, I don't know what's going to happen between me and
Brazil...
I feel like I'm walking blind and my guides are leaving me. I don't like this lonely feeling. Sporty and Devin are together ALL the time, but it wasn't until today when she left that
I really felt her absence. She has been my best friend since we were 2 and it makes me sad to know that she has a new best friend....

I was always supportive of marriage.. until now. I am no longer an advocate
--that is until I get married ;)

~Theories About Waiting~ (and life in general)

The term 'waiting for a missionary' is so cliche. Due to some recent events I have been thinking a lot about that term and how interesting it all is. When Brazil first left I was very interested in how other girls waited. Whenever "waiting" is brought up in a group of women it seems like 4 or 5 out of 10 have had a missionary at sometime in their life. They tell you all sorts of stories and blah blah blah... some of them would say 'well don't get your hopes up too much, I didn't wait for mine' and others would say 'you'll wait, you'll wait'. To me it's all a bunch of bullarky! Through out the last 18 months I've picked apart the brains of girls that waited and girls that didn't to try to find out what they did wrong or what they did right, and this is my conclusion:

It doesn't matter:
  1. How long you've dated
  2. How many times you write
  3. How big your promise ring is
  4. Revelation you might've received
  5. Whether or not you date while he's gone
  6. How many pictures you have of him in your room
  7. How close you are to his family
  8. How many boys you kiss while he's gone
  9. How hard you pray that you'll be together
NONE OF THAT MATTERS!

If it's meant to be-- it's meant to be....

I think back and I've seen every kind of waiting there is. I've seen obsessive, supportive, casual, ridiculous, cheesy, cute etc.
Everyone 'waits' differently. I look back at the last 18 months (yes I said EIGHTEEN.. aka 6 left) and I like the way that I've waited, but it's all so unsure. Everything is out of my hands. I can do everything in my power to marry Brazil, but at the end of the day it's in the Lord's hands... At any minute something could happen that could change everything-

What if I find someone in the next 6 months? Could I break that news to him?

What if he gets home and we just don't work out?? THEN WHAT!

and my most recent question

What if he writes me off?

I'm not sure that this would happen just because of how 'Brazil' is, but it happened to one of my friends this last week and it's just troubled me... it reminds me of how uncertain my future is. I like to bank on Brazil because I've banked on him for so long, but I'm scared! There are so many questions that have to be answered within the next 8 months of my life. My ETERNITY depends on the choices I make in the next year. WTCRAP! When did I get so old??

Dear Mom and Dad,
Will you just put me in a time capsule and take me back to 7th East and keep it 1997 for forever? Back to when boys were gross, multiplication was a trial, technology was limited & imagination was in large supply. Back to when Sporty played with me everyday all day [ instead of Devin ;) ] and Easter was not only about Jesus, but about the REAL Easter Bunny too. Back to when you had better health, less gray hair, and no "almost" son-in-laws.... That would be totally awesome and it would make my life much easier! Thanks
Love, Kaylen

General Conference

This last weekend was General Conference! I really do look forward to this time in the year because the messages of the prophets give us a chance to refocus our lives. The good news is that if you missed/slept through any of the sessions then 1st - you should repent and 2nd-click here and watch any session that you might've missed! Here are highlights of my favorite talks

Elder Hales: The four most loving words-- "We can't afford it". Another good quote-"Are you buying this because you love me or to show everyone that you can provide for me?" What is Provident Living? I think it's being happy with what you have, prioritizing your wants & needs, and being prepared for the unexpected turns in life i.e. job loss, natural disaster, health problems etc.

Elder Ballard: Learning the Lessons of the Past- "You can't text message faith". Our generation is all about the new technology and the quick and easy methods to life, but when it comes to our testimonies there is no quick and easy solution. "The process hasn't been changed. It comes through desire, study, prayer, obedience and service."

Those were my two favorite bits from conference. I am so grateful for living prophets in the world today. One of the big things they stressed is to be a "provident provider". The LDS church is currently implementing provident living in it's stakes all around the world. I just think that it is so amazing that our leaders can see what is coming and I just hope that we can all be prepared for whatever this crazy world has in store next. I was able to attend the Sunday Morning Session of general conference and I cannot even express what an amazing feeling Temple Square exudes.. lol.. It is such a motivating and empowering feeling! And to be in the midst of those amazing men of the church is such a blessing. Thomas S. Monson is a prophet & the Church is TRUE!
